small Lucy SimonsLucy joined MindTech as Research Fellow in October 2013. She is passionate about ways in which people (patients, the public, service users) can have a greater role influencing research agendas, design and implementation. She spent five years advising on patient and public involvement in research with INVOLVE, the NIHR funded national advisory group on public involvement in NHS, social care and public health research. Prior to this, she worked in mental health service research for 10 years, leading projects on how to organise services and develop mental health practitioner roles. Latterly, her research explored ways in which mental health service users can have greater control over their care and treatment and greater influence over health professional educational programmes.
